Denver - the Avalanche appear to be loading up for the playoff run as they have made two separate deals to add Adam Foote from Columbus and Ruslan Salei from Florida for Karlis Skrastins and a 3rd round pick. Fantasy impact will not be significant for all teams involved. Salei is a better puck moving defenceman than Skrastins, and might see a little time on the PP. Foote has lost a step or two from his days in Colorado. For the stretch drive, he'll be counted on for his physicality and his leadership more than his offence.
Carolina - the Hurricanes have added Tuomo Ruutu from Chicago in exchange for Andrew Ladd. Both players could benefit from a change in scenery. Ruutu can settle into his role as the next Mike Ricci, while Ladd will get a long look as a top 6 forward from the 'Hawks.
